You turned 13 this month.

That is exciting…and scary lol.

It’s so cliche but you are growing up right before my eyes…it’s cliche because it’s TRUE.

You are growing into this amazing young woman. Who is smart and compassionate and thoughtful and caring. And oh so beautiful.

I want to capture it all…

You have dreams and goals and wishes and I know your imagination is the limit.

We’ve talked about bucket lists lately…things you want to do one day.

Dance on point, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, skydive, among many things.

All of those things are great. DO THOSE…

Just don’t forget to play and jump in the rain.

Over the next year I have committed to participating in a blog circle called Letters to our Children. Once a month we will post an image and letter and link each other from one blog to the next forming a circle  right back here to me. I  hope you will follow along:)

My sweet and silly girls,

At 8, 11 and 13 you are growing up so fast.  All too soon you will be teenagers who would die to be seen in public with you mother – heaven forbid hold my hand and scoff at an extra tight hug and kiss. (too bad…I’m doing it anyway lol)

But for now in these last few years of childhood you still love to cuddle and sit on my lap. You sing songs at the top of your lungs not caring who hears you. You still pretend and make up plays dressing in crazy costumes. Or dare each other to do silly things like run down the street dressed in whatever you could find in the dress up trunk. You play games and house and hide-n-seek in the dark (and are still a bit scared) you are still my little girls. And I love how goofy and silly you can be.

In the midst of my 365 photo project, you are all willing participants, trying out my crazy ideas and poses and coming up with your own. I love how this project brings us closer together. But most of all I love that for each image I get like this…

I have to promise you all one like this… Because this crazy, goofy silly image is the perfect one.
