Archive for January, 2010

We get the Winnipeg Free Press everyday. I love to have a cup of coffee and read the paper after my girls have gotten on the bus to go to school. But for last couple of weeks I haven’t read it. I can’t. The devastation in Haiti is heartbreaking. I tear up whenever I do catch a glimpse of it on the news. My kids asked me about it today as their school is raising funds. My middle child said they were raising money to help save people who were trapped under buildings. I almost lost it right there. How do you explain to a 7 year old the difference between a rescue mission and a recovery mission. Like I said, heartbreaking.

So what can I do to help? I can’t go to Haiti, I can’t give hundreds of dollars. But I can do this…

This is an effort started by Michele from Pinkletoes Photographyand Lyndsay from Life in Motion Photography which I’m sure will balloon across the globe.

Like many photographers, I am on Flickr. It’s an amazing place full of inspiration. And ideas! There are often people who do 356 day projects where you take a picture a day for a year, or even crazier, a picture a day for a year of YOURSELF!!! Uggg, the thought of that makes me feel ill! Well, I decided to do something similar, although not quite so ambitious! Here is the start of the 52 weeks of Ruby Project!

Thanks for looking!

She sure is. At 37 weeks my sister is ready to have this baby she has been waiting years for. I am ready for a baby to photograph for the next 4 weeks!! I am crossing my fingers just a tiny bit that this will be a girl as I do not have one niece. I LOVE my nephews with all my heart but just one niece sure would be nice. Don’t worry baby “S” I will love you just as much if you are a boy:)

Please exuse any mess around here over the next little bit.

I’m changing a few things this month and some things are a bit wonky!

Watch for a new website coming soon!

Thanks for looking!
