Next up for the Workin Woman Feature is Pam from Funky Fleece! Doesn’t her store banner look great here on my blog, lol?
She’s here to share what her business has to offer!
Name: Pam McIntyre
AKA: my parents used to call me Pammy Sandwich, then when high school friends got wind of that…well you can imagine what happened next
Hails from: Pinawa, MB
Name of your business: Funky Fleece
When was your business born? November 2003
Why did you start your business? What inspires you? I knew for a few years previous to starting up that I wanted to start up my own business of some sort…quite a few various ideas made their way through my head but one day I was in a fabric store and saw the huge array of fun and bright fleece prints and colors, and the seed was planted! Once I started working with this amazingly versatile fabric, with so many uses, the ideas just started pouring in (they still won’t stop!), and I knew I had found my passion!
What does your business offer? Pretty much anything fleece, for every member of the family! I offer blankets, baby buntings, hats/mitts/scarves, ponchos, ladies wraps, kids robes, PJ pants, petwear, and coordinating jewelry and accessories…like my current best seller – the Flower Crochet Hat or Headband!
Where do you see your business in the future? I just love being home based for now – I am here for my family whenever they need Mom, but these teenagers are fast becoming very independent, so when the right time comes I would love to open my own store! I feel that next step is just around the corner and it is very exciting!
How do you balance work/family? My family always knows where to find me…in my sewing room!
That truly is the beauty of a home based business…I am very productive while they are at school or busy with their friends, then when the doctor’s appointments, band concerts, chauffeur duties etc pop up I am available. I love that!
Now for a few “fun” questions…
Skills: like every other mom I definitely HAVE TO excel at multi-tasking!
Challenges: too many ideas, only two hands
Chips or chocolate? “My name is Pam and I am a Chocoholic”
Secret weapon: my husband…he is awesome, ANYTHING I ask, he is there. I certainly could not do all my travelling to shows etc. without him…love you Mike! xo
Enemies/pet peeves: lateness for anything…can’t stand that!
Can’t live without: my Blackberry, it’s my third child
Heroes: my son for so many reasons, my daughter for so many reasons….those closest to me know exactly why
Little known facts: public speaking is my ultimate fear. Give me spiders or snakes anyday…just don’t put me on a stage
Anything else we should know? I absolutely LOVE connecting with my customers…when someone emails me that they love their Funky Fleece product, or a returning customer at a show comes to my booth at a show because they need more Funky Fleece, or when little kids look around at all the bright colors and prints in my product line, then choose something they like and they smile or dance around (yes, that that really happens!) that just feeds my fire! This is my absolute passion! So thank you to ALL my customers!
And thank you Pam for being on my blog! Check out Funky Fleece right now! Do you have a business and would like to be featured here? E-mail me at frecklefacephoto@mts.net
Thanks for looking!

*sigh*
10 years old
My baby is 10. Still sounds odd to say even though it’s been almost 2 months. I’m a bit slow;) Every year on my girls birthdays (or around there) I take them out for their own shoot. They get to pick outfits, location and most poses. They will take occasional suggestions but for the most part it’s all them. It’s the only way to get them to cooperate!
Here are a few of my favorites from “A’s” shoot!
This one is my favorite and I think will be blown up big!
Thanks for looking!

Bare with me folks! This will be a long post with lots of images!
As some of you know, my sister-in-law Debbie, along with her mother-in-law, Shirley, and 2 sister-in-laws, Andrea and Jen, (are you still with me,lol?) are the business women behind the wonderful baby carrier called, CuddlyWrap™. And a few of my clients have recognized me from the packaging! In fact I’ve been at a newborn shoot and have had the packaging right beside me and the mom says “Hey! Is this you???”
Yup! That’s me! Along with my youngest daughter, I, when she was 3 months old.
Well, a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be on the set of a video production Peapod Creations was doing as part of a television spot they were working on. They wanted a still photographer as well capturing behind the scenes and images they could use for other promotional materials.
I’m sure all the babies agreed, if they could agree;) that their favorite part was the Salsa Babies class! You should have seen these babies smiling, giggling and kicking their feet as their moms boogied to the music. So cute!
Here are a few images of the mom’s and babies who helped out for this video. I hope I’ve included everyone. If I forgot you, please let me know!
Thanks for looking!
