Birth Photography
If I could go back to the day of each of my girls’ birth days, I would in a heartbeat. I forget so many little things. Was I chatting and laughing or focused and intent? How long did I push? Which baby cried the most, did I cry, did my husband? Which one looked most like me, which one looked like my husband?
I have a couple of snapshots of course, but they were taken as an after thought by people who were too involved in the moment to remember to take many.
The emotion and commotion of the day, much like that of a wedding, is so overwhelming and time has a way of softening the edges of your memory. I would pay anything to have images of those firsts. The first breath, the first cry, the first look.
Birth photography- in hospital, home, natural, medicated or cesarean-is real and powerful and emotional. I strive to photograph each birth in an intimate yet modest way, as inconspicuously as possible.
Your images are beautiful and special, but very private and personal. While I would love to share my work with others, you will always have the opportunity to review and approve of any/all images shown. They are only shared with your expressed permission.*
