newborn magic ~ winnipeg newborn photography

There is something magical about walking into a home with a new baby.

I can feel it every time. There is a peacefulness that is palpable. It feels serene and calm even if it’s the third baby and there is chaos at the same time.

It’s like you can feel the fullness and weight of this new being taking up space in it.

And this home was no different, it was filled with this magic.

This was their first human baby;)as they have two gorgeous dogs who of course wanted in on the action and LOVE their new baby brother.

Thank you R&R ~ he is perfect ♥

Thanks for looking!

summer family ~ winnipeg family photography

Hello  :)

Remember me?

I took a wee break this summer from blogging – among other things – to clear my head, spend time with my family and try not to work so much. But I love blogging and I’ve missed it.

I won’t be able to post every session I’ve missed but I’ll do a few and catch you up on what’s been going on around here!

This family is one of my long time clients and I LOVE getting to see how their children are growing and to get to see their sweet personalities develop.

Mom wanted a beach session, and just having come home from the beach in Cape Cod ~more on that later~  I was totally inspired!

Thanks for looking!

letter to my daughter in her birthday month

You turned 13 this month.

That is exciting…and scary lol.

It’s so cliche but you are growing up right before my eyes…it’s cliche because it’s TRUE.

You are growing into this amazing young woman. Who is smart and compassionate and thoughtful and caring. And oh so beautiful.

I want to capture it all…

You have dreams and goals and wishes and I know your imagination is the limit.

We’ve talked about bucket lists lately…things you want to do one day.

Dance on point, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, skydive, among many things.

All of those things are great. DO THOSE…

Just don’t forget to play and jump in the rain.

Love, Mama

Wow 13!!! I know I have only 4 more years until I have a teen too! Sigh. She looks like she has a good head on her shoulders and LOVE her toes on the trampoline! One pointing down, painted teal, anklet…so perfectly teen! Love the drops here too…ads to the carefree feel!

letters to my daughters~ silliness is a part of childhood

Over the next year I have committed to participating in a blog circle called Letters to our Children. Once a month we will post an image and letter and link each other from one blog to the next forming a circle  right back here to me. I  hope you will follow along:)

My sweet and silly girls,

At 8, 11 and 13 you are growing up so fast.  All too soon you will be teenagers who would die to be seen in public with you mother – heaven forbid hold my hand and scoff at an extra tight hug and kiss. (too bad…I’m doing it anyway lol)

But for now in these last few years of childhood you still love to cuddle and sit on my lap. You sing songs at the top of your lungs not caring who hears you. You still pretend and make up plays dressing in crazy costumes. Or dare each other to do silly things like run down the street dressed in whatever you could find in the dress up trunk. You play games and house and hide-n-seek in the dark (and are still a bit scared) you are still my little girls. And I love how goofy and silly you can be.

In the midst of my 365 photo project, you are all willing participants, trying out my crazy ideas and poses and coming up with your own. I love how this project brings us closer together. But most of all I love that for each image I get like this…

I have to promise you all one like this… Because this crazy, goofy silly image is the perfect one.

Love, Mama

three girls! what fun! I’m due with my second this summer, and we are so excited for all things girly in our house! no boys (other than dad) allowed!

Lauri - November 12, 2013 - 3:19 pm

Oh Carol. Just about brings a tear to my eye! Our 4 daughters, as well, are so amazing. It really is so important to inject silliness and fun into daily life. One of the few great gifts a mom can give: a sense of humour. Gets your through just about anything in life less scathed, doesn’t it? :)

my month of hearts

I LOVED doing this challenge this month! It was hard but it made me think about each and every image I took and pushed me to be creative.

I’m happy to get to take some random images this month lol!

I am waiting on pins and needles to get this in the mail!!

My friend Michele Anderson made the super awesome template especially for my heart images and it’s being printed on a 30×30 canvas as we speak!!!

It’s going to be amazing!
